Registration Process· Download the Registration Form and mail it with your deposit to Bear Creek Camp, we can’t register campers without a complete registration form and deposit. · Deposits and payments can be made with a check payable to Bear Creek Camp or with your Visa, Mastercard, or Discover card. A $5 convenience fee will be added to all credit card payments. An monthly electronic funds transfer can also be set up to pay camp fees, please call Tracey at 570-472-3741 if you would like more information. · After receiving your registration form and deposit, we will send you a registration confirmation, camper Health Form and the Getting Ready For Camp booklet. · Processing registrations may take two to three weeks. If you have not received a confirmation in three to four weeks, please contact us. · When you receive your registration confirmation please review it and notify us if anything is incorrect. · Complete the Health Form and return it to camp at least two weeks before the camper’s arrival. For health and safety reasons the Health Form must be updated annually (we are not able to use a Health Form from a previous year at camp), with evidence of a health examination within 24 months of arriving at camp. · Campers will not be allowed to stay at camp if these forms are not completely filled out and on file at camp. Discounts· Pastor’s Signature Discount -- Church members of the NE and SE PA Synods of the ELCA, and EpiscopalianDiocese of Bethlehem and Philadelphia are eligible to receive a $10 discount if their minister signsthe registration form.· BCA Discount -- Campers are eligible for a $10 discount, if their congregation has a registered Bear Creek Ambassador who attended a BCA Annual Meeting in 2008. If you are unsure if you qualify, please ask your pastor.· Early Bird Discount -- Campers are eligible for a $10 discount if the registration form and total registration fee is postmarked by April 1st, 2008. Full payment must be included to receive this discount, monies.
Financial Assistance · We work hard to insure that no child is turned away due to lack of funds. Assistance is available through several sources for those needing it due to financial hardship or sending multiple children to camp. · To receive assistance you will need to register for camp with at least a $75 deposit and submit a simple Campership Request Form. You may download the form at the bottom of the page or call (570) 472-3741, · Campership requests received by the 15th of each month will be notified by the end of the month. In the rare case that you do not receive the needed amount, your deposit will be fully refunded. · If you are able, please consider contributing to the Bear Creek Campership Fund. All donations go directly to reducing the cost of camp for campers in need.
Canteen Cards & Camp Photos or CD's· The $7 Canteen Card eliminates the need for cash and can be used in the camp store to purchase snacks and other small items, or donate to charity. The camp store is open on Sunday and Saturday for those who would like to purchase camp shirts, water bottles, or other items. To help create a level of equality between our campers we only sell one $7 canteen card per camper. · A professional quality 8”x10” photo of your camper’s Quest Group is available for $7. · A slideshow of your week at camp is is available for $7 and include over 75 photos taken during the week you were at camp. · These items are optional and not included in the Program Fees for camp.
Refund Policy · $10 will be charged for each change in camp registrations. · All registrations are subject to a $100 non-refundable deposit. · Refunds for cancellations will be made according to the following schedule: o No Show or less than 2 weeks in advance – 0% Refund o 2 – 4 weeks in advance – 30% Refund o More than 4 weeks in advance – 60% Refund o Cancellations due to medical reasons: § Will be refunded 100% when we receive a doctor’s certification. § Transferring to another summer session or program may be done at no charge in lieu of cancellation.
Camp Sessions Swimming, boating, hiking, daily devotions, an overnight camping trip, arts & crafts, nature activities, worship, campfires, singing, games fill the camper’s days with faith and fun. Campers are housed in cabin groups of 6-8 people who are usually within 6-12 months apart in age. Each cabin group is generally paired with a cabin group of the opposite gender to form a Quest Group. These Quest Groups, led by two trained staff members, are the backbone of programming at Bear Creek Camp. Bear Creek Camp’s Mission Bear Creek Camp and Conference Center is the outdoor ministry of the Northeastern and Southeastern Pennsylvania Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our mission is to provide opportunities for adventure and discovery within God’s creation and Christian community. We invite all people to experience spiritual growth through recreation and reflection, and through encounter with God’s Word and world. We do this as partners in ministry and stewards of God’s creation.
