2019 Alumni Staff Reunion Weekend

Get ready to lace up your hiking boots and get your car covered in that familiar red dirt… Bear Creek Camp Alumni Staff Reunion (formerly known as Old Staff) is just around the corner! We look forward to welcome you back to BCC from September 6-8, 2019. Whether it’s been three weeks, three years, or three decades, we’re excited to have you back at camp where we hope you will feel the same excitement, comfort, and youthful happiness that you did when you were a camper and/or counselor.

We warmly invite you to this weekend of fun, friendship, and festivities and hope the information below will help you plan your experience.

  • Registration and payment for full weekends is now available online here. If you are planning to stay only part of the weekend, or will not be eating at the camp, please register by contacting Megan Watza (formerly Wilson) at mw6violet@gmail.com.
  • Full weekends will be $55 per person, with each additional person at $50. This fee includes the cost of all meals for the weekend (Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch) and lodging. Online registration will close by August 29. Afterwards, please plan to pay $60 in cash for the full weekend on-site.
  • What’s new with the weekend? This year we’ll be celebrating the weekend under a new name and following a new policy regarding invitees. Please check out our Staff Alumni Reunion Weekend 101 Guide for all the details.
  • We understand that schedules are busy and travel plans can be complicated, so we invite you to come when you can and leave when you must! However, please do not arrive on site prior to 2:00 pm on Friday, September 6th.
  • Although All God’s Critters Got A Place in the Choir, pets are not permitted at Alumni Reunion Weekend. Thank you for leaving your furry friends at home.

Splish splash! Join us for an optional canoe trip!

On Friday, September 6, we will continue the annual tradition of canoeing down the Delaware River past the former Miller-Hagan-Mini Camps. Please arrive at Chamberlain Canoes at 9:00 am on Friday, September 6 for a 10:00 am departure. Bring your swimsuit, water shoes, sunscreen, camera, a bagged lunch, and beverages for a great day out on the river!

Sign up for the canoe trip is separate from registration for the Alumni Weekend and should be completed in advance. Previously, a lot of paddlers showed up at the last minute causing a minor logistics panic with the Chamberlain Canoes Staff. Pre-register directly with Chamberlain Canoes and mention that you are part of the Miller-Hagan-Mini-Bear Creek Reunion Trip.

Alumni Staff Reunion

Bear Creek Camp Alumni Staff Reunion (AKA Old Staff) is coming September 7-9, 2018. Come and join old friends and meet the next generation of staff carrying on the tradition of teaching and caring for campers just as you did.

A few new things this year from your Reunion Hosts (Daniel, Maggie, Matthew, and Kristen):

  • Registration and payment for full weekends is available online here. If you are planning to stay only part of the weekend, or will not be eating at the camp, please register by contacting Daniel Graf at: danielgraf.developer@gmail.com or 610-763-1629.
  • Full weekends will be $50 per person, with each additional person at $45. This includes all meals and lodging.
  • Please do not arrive prior to 2pm on Friday, September 7. The camp has a large retreat group that departs after lunch and time is needed for cleaning.
  • We ask that no pets come along. Please adhere to this request.

 

THE CANOE TRIP – If you are planning to canoe down the river on Friday, please sign up in advance. Last year a lot of paddlers showed up at the last minute causing a minor logistics panic with the Chamberlain Canoes Staff so please pre-register with Chamberlain Canoes: email sales@chamberlaincanoes.com, call (800)422-6631, or go to chamberlaincanoes.com.
Prices per person will be:

  • $21 – Portage

2016:

Alumni Staff Reunion

Every year an alumni staff reunion is held at Bear Creek Camp.

The weekend will start on Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11. Registration fee is $5 per person, ages 6+. Max registration fee per family is $20.

*Children under 5 eat and stay for free, but we need a count for meals so that we can provide enough food.

2016 Summer Staff: Registration fee is $5. Meals cost an additional $20.
