to Bear Creek Camp! 

        We're glad you're exploring our site.  With 3000 acres, 25 miles of trails, and a lake, there are plenty of opportunities for adventure and discovery.  Located  in the Poconos of Northeastern Pennsylvania just off of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Bear Creek Camp is an easy drive from many major cities in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. Come visit anytime.

        Bear Creek Camp and Conference Center is a ministry of the Northeastern  and Southeastern Pennsylvania Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America.  Our facilities are open year-round, as a co-ed resident Summer Camp during the summer months, and as a retreat and Conference Center the rest of the year. A year round Nature Center also provides year round educational experiences, activities, and events.

           Bear Creek Camp has been in operation at our present site since 1974.  Outdoor Ministries in eastern Pennsylvania stretch back almost another 50 years at our predecessor camps.  These camps,  Miller, Hagan, and Ministerium were located along the Delaware River and run by the synods beginning in 1927.

Our Mission

Provide opportunities for Adventure and Discovery in God's creation and Christian Community.  We invite all people to experience spiritual growth through recreation and reflection, and through encounter with God's Word and world.  We do this as partners in ministry and stewards of God's creation.
